Our Glencoe Services
We service the North Shore’s Glencoe, Highland Park, and Winnetka
Social Dog Walking, Puppy Sitting, and Training in Glencoe and Surrounding Suburbs
Social Dog Walking
30-Minute $25 (+$10/adtl dog)
45-Minute $30 (+$15/adtl dog)
60-Minute $35 (+$15/adtl dog)
Weekends 1/2 more
—
- We have a 2 days per week, 36 weeks per year, minimum. This allows us to maintain familiarity with your dog, and for your dog to make and maintain familiarity with dog friends
- All services include natural enrichment, which helps promote: mental, physical, and emotional well-being
- 30-Minute is typically a walk from your home, around your neighborhood
- 45 and 60-Minute includes time for us to drive your dog a few minutes beyond your neighborhood, so it’s not always the same radius walk around home; maybe to a forest preserve, or for some off-leash time in a private fenced area at another dog’s house
Scheduling Tips
- The general rule for the right amount of walking, dogs over six months of age, is two 30-minute walks per day
- Save one or both of those walks for us
- Morning Walk: after breakfast and after a rest, to digest
- Afternoon Walk: after a rest from the first walk.
- Schedule longer than a 30-Minute service at least sometimes; we drive-to-walk, so your dog gets to walk places other than only ever around home.
- Some dogs need a sitter, not a walker. Our Puppy Sitting service is for puppies and young dogs up to 6 months. We don’t have sitting service for dogs over 6 months. If you need sitting service for your over 6 month old dog, let us know if you’d like some tips for finding a good dog sitter.
Puppy Sitting
$20 per hour (dependent upon availability)
—
Our Puppy Sitting service is for dogs up to 6 months of age. Let us know what time you’re leaving and returning. We arrive before you leave and stay until your return. We go out with your puppy/young dog to the toilet, whenever nature calls.
At 6 months of age, we can start weaning them on to Social Dog Walking.
Our earliest start time is 8:00 am, latest end time is 6:00 pm. Puppy Sitting is dependent upon availability. There’s a minimum of three consecutive hours.
We are closed, including for Puppy Sitting: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve Day; if one of those falls on a weekend, we are closed the observed weekday.
Training
$90 per hour (dependent upon availability)
—
Our training is with Canine Care’s founder and owner Lennox Armstrong, an International Dog Trainer School (IDTS) certified Calming Signals and Behavior Specialist.
We train people for dogs.
Results are dependent upon parental participation. Grounded in agency, we afford dogs the freedom of safe choices to live a fearless life. Doing so creates a greater likelihood of preventing and treating illness, injury, and behavior issues.
We don’t use treats, crates, prong, electric, or choke collars.
Initial consultations, at our enrichment center, typically last 2-3 hours. We sit and talk while your dog is off-leash. We come up with a plan to best help you and your dog. After the initial consultation, sessions typically last an hour and are either at your place or ours. How many sessions depends; it’s typically a few.
